Patient-specific planning of arthroplasty: from CT scans to structural models

The course has the aim to give students a vide view on joint arthroplasty design and its evolution, pointing out mistakes of design made in the past and perspectives, as well as some indications about the support given by surgical navigators.

Hand-on computational laboratory will teach students how to make a virtual pre-surgical plan: starting from the reconstruction of a patient joint to the structural analysis of the biomechanical system given by the human joint and the prosthesis.
